About Cusco
Cusco is the parts brand of Carrosser Co., Ltd. (Kabushiki-gaisha Carrosser), a Japanese manufacturer based in Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture. Carrosser was founded in December 1977 by the late Yuji Kase as a rally shop in Annaka, Gunma. It launched the Cusco brand in 1983 and later added the SAFETY21 roll cage line. The company's motto is to build the parts it needs, at a quality its own team is satisfied using.
Carrosser says it now makes one of the widest product ranges in the Japanese aftermarket. The range includes coilovers, limited-slip differentials, clutches, strut bars and chassis bracing, sway bars, adjustable arms, roll cages and competition parts. Carrosser still runs its own teams in rallying, gymkhana and dirt trial and uses the results to develop its products. In 2008 a car fitted with Carrosser's own transaxle 4WD system won the SUPER GT round in Malaysia. Cusco U.S.A. was established in 2010.
Cusco and the JDM scene
Cusco's rally roots explain why it is so strong in drivetrain and chassis parts. Its LSDs are a common upgrade for drifters, gymkhana drivers and track-day cars that need more traction coming out of a corner. Its strut bars, power braces and roll cages stiffen everything from the AE86 and S-chassis to the GR86, Evo and WRX STI. Its coilover range includes the Street Zero and Sport R lines. Cusco also supplies parts approved for the GR86/BRZ Cup one-make series. For many builds, Cusco is the brand that turns more power into usable grip.
- Type RS and MZ limited-slip differentials
- Street Zero, Street Zero A and Sport R coilovers
- Strut bars, power braces, sway bars and SAFETY21 roll cages
