Brand Spotlight: Junction Produce

About Junction Produce

Junction Produce is an Osaka-based Japanese brand closely associated with VIP style. The company is led by Takahiro Taketomi and began as a car crew that made its own body kits to match its members' style, then started selling them after strong demand. It has been developing parts since the 1990s.

Today Junction Produce offers aero parts for Japanese luxury sedans such as the Nissan Cedric, Gloria and Cima and the Toyota Crown and Majesta, along with its Scara wheels, interior accessories, cushions, floor mats and apparel. Its aero parts are made to order. The brand's signature accessory is the fusa, a decorative tassel handmade by traditional Japanese craftsmen. Through its official online shop the company also sells complete vehicles, stickers and neck pads.

Junction Produce and the JDM scene

VIP style, also called bippu, turns Japanese luxury sedans into low, clean and elegant statement cars, and Junction Produce is one of the first names enthusiasts associate with it. Speedhunters credits Taketomi with helping start the scene in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and a Junction Produce demo car debuted at the 2004 SEMA Show, helping introduce the look to American enthusiasts. The fusa tassel hanging from the rearview mirror or grab handle is now a recognizable VIP signature worldwide.
