About Origin Labo

Origin Labo, often listed in the US as Origin Lab, is a Japanese aero parts maker founded in 2004 by drifting and track racing enthusiasts. According to its North American distribution, D1 Grand Prix drivers began running Origin parts at the top level of Japanese drifting as early as 2005, and the brand is now sold through distributors in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

Origin's catalog covers body kits and aero parts: bumpers, lips, side skirts, canards, vented hoods, rear wings, overfenders and full widebody kits. Most parts are made in fiberglass (FRP), with some carbon pieces, and the company says they are designed for good fitment and a smooth finish out of the box. The range spans classic drift chassis as well as modern platforms such as the Toyota 86.

Origin Labo and the JDM scene

Origin Labo comes straight out of drift culture, and it shows in the cars it supports. The S-chassis Nissans are the core of the range, from the Silvia S13, S14 and S15 to the 180SX, along with the AE86, Skyline, RX-7 and the modern Toyota 86. Origin's aggressive bumpers and overfenders are a common sight at grassroots drift events, where affordable FRP parts that can be replaced after contact make a lot of sense.
