About WALD

WALD International is a Japanese tuning house known for luxury styling. According to its US distributor, WALD started in 1990 as a tuning shop with a wholesale business in Mercedes-Benz and European tuning parts, and in 1994 began designing, developing and manufacturing its own products. It has since become a widely recognized aftermarket name for body kits, wheels and accessories.

WALD's best-known line is Black Bison. The Black Bison kit for the R35 Nissan GT-R appeared at the 2009 Tokyo Auto Salon with parts offered in wet or dry carbon, and Black Bison editions have since been created for vehicles such as the Lexus LS and, most recently, the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado shown at the 2025 Osaka Auto Messe. The company also produces its own multi-piece wheels.

WALD and the JDM scene

Not every JDM build is about drifting or lap times. Japan's luxury and VIP styling scene puts the focus on presence, stance and detail, and WALD is one of the Japanese tuners most associated with that look, from Lexus and Toyota sedans to Mercedes-Benz and the R35 GT-R. Genuine WALD hardware and badges are a key part of finishing a WALD-equipped car correctly.
